Say Cheese

Right, for those of you not in the know, the food blog community is having a mass grilling on Thursday, 16 February 2006.

I shall not say more except to direct those interested in participating to Food Blog School where the reasons why and how are listed - http://foodblogscool.blogspot.com/2006/02/misc-congrats-to-fellow-food-bloggers.html#comments.

And here is a cute icon which was created by Kalyn's (of Kalyn's Kitchen fame) brother specifically for this event, which you may choose to use if you are participating.

That saying, I would like to state that I am very privileged to be part of this supportive, generous and good natured community. And a special shout-out to those who really make an effort to bring the real passion of food to us on a delectable platter, from herbs to theme events to a special recipe they concocted. Even a photo of a cheese sammich and a post about what they had for breakfast is special because they put a little of themselves (as well as their menu) out there to share with us.

I am extremely grateful to be able to read and enjoy all the food blogs out there and am honoured to be accepted as one. So come Thursday I'll be asking "Where's the cheese, Gromit?" ... yes, I am that cheesey.

I'm doing it as well! I agree with you and if you don't particularly like 'I had this and that for breakfast' blogs, don't read it. Live and let live instead!

Hey Kalyn! Yes, I got quite annoyed at the article and decided that I would help support the cause in any way I can. You're very welcomed as I meant every word I said.

Ilva - yes, yes, this should be a fun event even if it was not to make a point! Have already scribbled down a host of ideas. So many ideas, so little time!

Darlamay - You're welcome. Hope you'll be able to be a cheesy wossit too!

I'll be doing the cheesy post as well.

This food blogging community is so wonderful - positive, encouraging and just plain fun. There isn't another blogging community out there that is so together. I feel like everyone is family. Too bad old Pete hasn't gotten that message.

Oh well, he's the one missing out.

I also want to thank you for dropping my my site. I couldn't find an email address, so this is a little more public than I intended....but....

You commented that you thought my upcoming cookbook would be a success - thanks for the kind words.
I'm still looking for volunteer recipe testers - I'm desperate for others to use my recipes and find the inconsistencies, grammar mistakes, etc., so if you're interested or have some friends who might be, send me an email: ruth AT 4everykitchen DOT com

Hope this wasn't too pushy

Rock on, mm.

Add me to the list of cheese-sandwich blog lovers. I'll be making one, too. But first I have to bake a gluten-free bread - maybe a foccacia? Hmmm...panini anyone?

Stephanie, why can't I find your e-mail address? I have got to get more organized before we go traveling together.

I just wanted to say that I thought your last post on FBS (before Sam pulled the plug) was brilliant. I laughed out loud.

I'm more than a little amused to say that we were already planning a cheese sandwich post before the article was published.

Should we email a link to someone specific? Kalyn perhaps?

Sorry all, have been a little out of it but finally I've posted.

Mae - Can't wait to see your cheese sammich.

Sha - Yes, yes! Send me to heaven please!

Ivonne - Yes, too cheesinity & beyond!

Ruth - I do feel sorry for Pete Wells. I think he may regret his article now but on the other hand, it has really given him and F&W a lot of exposure. So I guess it works out for everyone. They get publicity. We get to eat.

And I would love to help you out if I can. I'll email you.

Karina - Panini please! Yummers.

Kalyn - Will email you when I post for WHB. And I think you might have been the only one to have read my respond. I did not think I was rude in any way but perhaps my humour does not translate as well in that context. Oh well. Glad you laughed out loud. :)

J - Can I join you?

Kevin - Thanks for visiting me! Wow, what an honour! I really loved your photos! Especially the Reuben.

Rob - the power of the Internet, my friend. I think we should email the link to Kalyn as I think she might be aggregating all the Cheese Sammich Day posts.
